While ShapeShell™ is a brand, ShapeShell International Indonesia is a manufacturing company where we manufacture the fibre reinforced material and it’s located in Batam, Indonesia.
ShapeShift Technologies is the overarching global entity responsible for the complete engineering, structural certification, project management, and design-to-manufacture workflow.
ShapeShell International Indonesia refers specifically to our advanced manufacturing facility located in Batam, Indonesia, which operates under the quality controls and technical oversight of ShapeShift Technologies.
We engineer three primary high-performance, fibre-reinforced advanced materials tailored for specific architectural requirements:
ShapeShell™-RT (Reinforced Thermoset): A lightweight material designed for high-visibility external cladding and complex 3D geometries, offering five times the strength of aluminium.
ShapeShell™-RC (Reinforced Concrete): A thin-walled glass fibre reinforced concrete (15–25 mm nominal thickness) suitable for high-performance facades and rainscreens.
ShapeShell™-RG (Reinforced Gypsum): A lightweight mineral matrix material designed specifically for internal architectural applications, providing a 30% weight reduction compared to standard GFRC.
We provide a broad spectrum of surface options depending on the material selected.
Standard smooth off-form finishes.
PVDF coatings in standard RAL colours (and many colour systems).
Cementitious texturing with medium-to-hard texture.
Metallic finishes with matte and gloss levels.
All colours and finishes are applied to all material.
Our digital workflows allow for limitless geometric freedom, shifting from simple flat panels to intricate 3D architectural profiles. We utilise large-format, computer-controlled 5-axis CNC machines to mill master moulds directly from 3D digital design files. This allows architects to achieve complex curves, organic shapes, and precise joint lines without compromising the material’s structural integrity.
We design our panels to include an engineered rail-and-bracket attachment system. The sub-framing system provides up to ±20mm on-site adjustability across horizontal and vertical alignment points, allowing installers to adjust for structural variations and onsite building tolerances efficiently.
