The ShapeShift benchtops are engineered to minimise and eliminate hazardous Crystalline silica dust, meeting regulatory standards in Australia while maintaining the look and durability of GRC light glass fibre concrete material; the advanced formulation uses materials to support sustainability targets without compromising design flexibility.

All ShapeShell-RC products are designed in accordance with the design specifications outlined in the following documents: ​

  • GRC Industry Group of National Precast Concrete Association Australia, 2006, “Design, Manufacture and Installation of Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC)”​
  • The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA), 2018, “Practical Design Guide for Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete”​

Material Options​

Standard RC

Utilizes reinforced concrete, a widely accepted and durable material for benchtops. Optional admixtures to enhance durability, and aesthetics​. Standard RC is composed of cement, aggregates (Contains engineered quartz, which includes crystalline silica)

No Added Crystalline Silica

Minimizing respirable crystalline silica exposure by eliminating added crystalline silica in the material mix. ​ Contains only naturally occurring silica, with no artificial crystalline silica additives

Silica Free​

Silica-free material making it the safest option for workers and end-users. Moving away from traditional concrete and natural stone materials.​ Contains porcelain, sintered stone, or recycled glass composites bonded with high-performance resins.​
